unable to think
I realized that people don't think for themselves or more that they are afraid to do so. The books that express a certain thought that might offend someone is band forcing people to think a certain way. this in my opinion is unthinkable the Authur was trying to show his fear of this happening in modern day. they say the people in this world are happy without these band books but then why are so many attempting suicide if everyone is happy. I think that they all smile on the outside and cry on the inside hiding their fear unable to speak their mind. the main character montag is realizing this now that the young girl exposed him to what the world used to be how people were truly happy and people could think for themselves. what changed and why is my question how could people let their world change so much.

Melissa, you rightly pointed out the importance of expressing oneself openly. The fact that people are unable to express themselves freely is leading to suffocation of their conscience and that is the prime reason of drastic steps people are forced to take.
